Most all of my designs, I draw first. Luckily for me, that’s where my graphic design experience comes in handy. Designing a rug for tufting applications requires some modifying. You have to keep in mind that small details can get lost, outlines need to thick enough to carve and the more colors, the more work! But the end result is so gratifying by seeing how you can take an idea, draw it out and create a piece of art that is physical, tactile and made to enjoy!
